Beaconsfield, par. and market town, S. Bucks, 5½ miles SW. of Amersham, 4541 ac., pop. 1635; P.O., T.O. Market-day, Wednesday. In the church are monuments to Waller (1605-1687), the poet, and Edmund Burke (1730-1797), who resided in the vicinity. Lord Beaconsfield (1805-1881) took his title from this par.
