Bulwell, par. and vil. with ry. sta., N. Notts, within mun. bor. of Nottingham, 1210 ac., pop. 8575; P.O., T.O. The principal industry is framework-knitting. In the vil. is an old free school, founded and endowed in 1668. About 1½ mile W. of the vil. is Bulwell Hall. Bulwell Wood Hall, rebuilt in the time of Charles I. by the Byrons, and now the property of the Duke of Portland, is 1¾ mile SW. of Hucknall Torkard.
