Castle Bolton, township, Wensley par., North-Riding Yorkshire, 5 miles NW. of Leyburn ry. sta. 4956 ac., pop. 169; contains Bolton Hall, seat of Lord Bolton, and the ruins of Bolton Castle, the prison of Mary Queen of Scots for two years previous to her removal to Tutbury.
