Dinnet, quoad sacra par. and sta. on Deeside Ry., Aboyne and Glentanner par., Aberdeenshire, pop. 311; P.O.; the sta. is 4½ miles W. of Aboyne; Dinnet Burn (generally considered the natural line between the Highlands and Lowlands of Deeside) issues from Loch Davan, and flows. 2 miles SE. to the Dee; the Muir of Dinnet, a dismal tract, containing several cairns and vestiges of ancient warfare, stretches between Dinnet sta. and Cambus O'May sta., 2½ miles SW.
