Fairlie.-- quoad sacra par. and vil. (ry. stations Fairlie and Fairlie Pier), Largs par., Ayrshire -- par., pop. 711; vil., on Firth of Clyde, 2 m. S. of Largs, pop. 685; P.O.; has a steamboat pier (1882) and a yacht building-yard; at vil. is Fairlie House, seat; on Fairlie Burn (rising on Fairlie Moor, and flowing 2 miles W. to Firth of Clyde) are the ruins of Fairlee Castle, once the seat of the Fairlies.
