Gartness Station, ry. sta., on W. border of Stirlingshire, 1½ mile NE. of Drymen sta. and 22 miles SW. of Stirling; P.O.; adjacent, on Endrick Water, is the Pot of Gartness, a cauldron-shaped cavity, with cascade; also, remains of an old castle, a residence of Napier of Merchiston (1550-1617), inventor of logarithms.
