Kimmeridge, par. and vil., Dorset, near bay of same name, 6½ miles S. of Wareham, 1570 ac., pop. 170; P.O.; produces a peculiar bituminous shale, of which small pieces of a circular form have been found and called Kimmeridge coal-money; they vary in size and are of great antiquity; Kimmeridge Valley is 4½ miles long.
