Kirkham, township with ry. sta. (Kirkham Abbey), Weston par., East-Riding Yorkshire, on river Derwent, 5½ miles SW. of Malton and 15¾ miles NE. of York, 273 ac. (13 water), pop. 51; P.O.; contains the ruins of Kirkham Abbey (1121), consisting of the gate, a Norman doorway, the E. end of the choir, and part of the cloisters.
