Leybourne, small market town and township, with ry. sta., Wemsley par., North-Riding Yorkshire, 18 miles W. of Northallerton, 2515 ac., pop. 972; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks. Market-day, Friday. Fairs for cattle and sheep are held. On W. side is Leyburn Shawl, a well-known walk on the edge of a ridge of rocks affording magnificent views.
