Llanfyllin.-- parl. bor., market town, and par. with ry. sta., Montgomeryshire, in N. of co., on river Cain, 14 miles SW. of Oswestry - par., 7923 ac., pop. 1774; bor., 377 ac., pop. 1080; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank. Market-day, Thursday. Llanfyllin is an ancient chartered incorporation, and is prettily situated. Brewing, malting, and tanning are the chief employments. Llanfyllin is one of the Montgomery District of Parliamentary Boroughs, which returns 1 member.
