Llanstephan.-- par. and vil., Carmarthenshire, in SW. of co.- par., 5020 ac. land and 1690 water, pop. 1217; vil., at mouth of river Towy, 8 miles SW. of Carmarthen; P.O., T.O.; is a sea-bathing place; the ruins of Llanstephan Castle, built in 1138, stand on a bold headland, at the mouth of the Towy.
