Lockerbie, market town and police burgh with ry. sta., Dryfesdale par., Dumfriesshire, 14½ miles NE. of Dumfries and 316 NW. of London by rail, pop. 2029; P.O., T.O., 4 Banks, 1 newspaper. Market-day, Thursday. Lockerbie has several important sheep and cattle fairs, the lamb fair in August being the largest in Scotland. In the vicinity are the old tower of the Johnstones of Lockerbie, and Lockerbie House, seat.
