Deeping, Market, small market town and par., S. Lincolnshire, on river Welland, on border of co., 7½ miles SE. of Bourn and 85 N. of London, 1290 ac., pop. 1212; P.O., T.O. Market-day, Wednesday; has malting, brewing, ropemaking, and boatbuilding. Market Deeping is of great antiquity. The land to the E. of the town is said to be the lowest in the county; whence the name of Deeping.
