Melfort, Loch, sea-loch, Kilninver and Kilmelford par., Argyllshire, opposite Luing island; at NE. head of loch is Melfort House, seat, 15 miles N. of Kilmartin; 3 miles SW., on N. side of loch, is Melfort Cottage, seat; N. of Melfort House, on road from Oban to Ford, is the picturesque Pass of Melfort; Melfort gives titles to the Earl of Perth.
