Morley, mun. bor. and township, Batley par., S. div. West-Riding Yorkshire, 5 miles SW. of Leeds and 8 miles SE. of Bradford by rail, 2765 ac., pop. 15,011; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks, 1 newspaper; has woollen cloth trade, coal mining, and stone quarrying. Morley is mentioned in Domesday Book as a place of great importance in the West-Riding. It was made a mun. bor. in 1885.
