Ystrad), Glamorgan, on river Rhondda, 7½ miles NW. of Pontypridd - par., 25,023 ac., pop. 45,052; township, 19,441 ac., pop. 44,046; dist. (including also parts of Llantrisaint and Llanwonno pars.), 23,938 ac., pop. 55,632; P.O., T.O., at Ystrad Rhondda; the par. contains Llwynpia and other mining centres; the township of Ystradyfodwg forms the Rhondda parl. div. of the co. of Glamorgan.

Rhondda, river, Glamorgan; rises under Craig-y-Llyn, and flows 14 m. SE. through the Rhondda Valley to the Taff at Pontypridd; Rhondda Valley has very fine scenery, and is rich in mineral wealth.
