Seaton Delaval, township and vil. with ry. sta., Earsdon par., Northumberland, 3 miles SW. of Blyth, 2653 ac. and 145 foreshore, pop. 3801; P.O.; has collieries and mfrs. of chemicals. The fine old mansion-house of Seaton Delaval, property of Lord Hastings, was destroyed by fire in 1822. A chapel (11th century) is within the grounds.
