Stainland, town and township with ry. sta., Halifax par., N. div. West-Riding Yorkshire, 3½ miles SW. of Halifax, 2335 ac., pop. 4933; P.O., T.O.; is a busy place, carrying on mfrs. of woollen goods, worsted, cotton, paper, and pasteboard. The township is called Stainland with Old Lindley.
