Sturminster Marshall, par. and vil., Dorset, in E. of co.- par., 3851 ac., pop. 809; vil., on river Stour, 4 miles W. of Wimborne; P.O.; is a place of some antiquity, and was once a market town. The Stour is here crossed by an 8-arched bridge.
