Thrapston, market town and par. with ry. sta., Northamptonshire, on river Nen, 8¼ miles SW. of Oundle and 21 miles NE. of Northampton, 990 ac., pop. 1366; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks. Market-day, Tuesday. Thrapston had a ruined hermitage in the time of Henry VIII. It possesses a considerable trade by means of the Nen.
