Tisbury, small town and par. with ry. sta., Wilts, 12¾ miles W. of Salisbury, 7355 ac., pop. 2445; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks; the par. contains the townships of East Tisbury and West Tisbury, pop. 894 and 796. Tisbury derived some importance, in old times, from its neighbourhood to Wardour Castle.
