Upton on Severn, market town and par. with ry. sta. (Upton), Worcestershire, on river Severn, 5½ miles NW. of Tewkesbury, 6 miles SE. of Malvern, and 119 miles NW. of London, 3170 ac., pop. 2485; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks. Market-day, Thursday. Upton is a well-built town with a considerable trade, the river being navigable here for vessels of 100 tons. Upton was occupied by Cromwell's troops before the battle of Worcester.
