Watlington, market town and par. with ry. sta., Oxfordshire, in SE. of co., at foot of Chiltern Hills, 8 miles NE. of Wallingford and 15 miles SE. of Oxford, 3687 ac., pop. 1815; P.O., T.O. Market-day, Saturday. Watlington is an ancient place; was known at Domesday as Watelintone, and had its market charter from Richard I. Lace-making is the principal industry; brewing is carried on.
