Westerham, market town and par. with ry. sta., Kent, 5 miles W. of Sevenoaks and 25 miles SE. of London, 5804 ac., pop. 2301; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank. Market-day, Wednesday. Westerham is an ancient town, and is pleasantly situated on a gentle declivity near the Surrey border. The church of St Mary is an old structure, and contains, among other interesting memorials, a monument of General Wolfe (1727-1759), a native of the town. The town has also a public hall and market house (1866), and a literary institution and reading-room. The principal trade is in corn.
